John Cella NYC Real Estate Broker

John Cella is from Cold Spring Harbor, New York. He was inspired to pursue a career in real estate by his passion for geography and history. Although he grew up in Queens and Cold Spring Harbor, he often visited Manhattan and loved to learn about the layout of the greater NYC area. John has a lot of respect for architects, developers, and their respective teams on the ground that create beautiful buildings, which come together to form the amazing NYC skyline.

Prior to coming to Elegran, John spent the beginning of his career working in television ad sales for MTV Networks and in corporate sales and sponsorships for the New York Red Bulls. He then decided to go into real estate, starting out as an Associate specializing in commercial sales at Massey Knakal Realty Services specializing in Coney Island, Sheepshead Bay, and Brighton Beach. This position gave John a great foundation in real estate with his manager’s tutelage and the training provided. Afterward, he worked under another manager at Pink Stone Realty, where he handled residential and commercial leases as a landlord representative. John then joined Elegran and called the company home for several years before leaving to work at a small commercial brokerage called Manhattes Group and then Sotheby’s. After brief stays at each of these firms, he worked at a startup called Vanguard Residential. Recently, he decided to rejoin Elegran, and enjoys working in an environment with a great sense of community and innovation.

John is a fiduciary to his clients and makes it his biggest responsibility to protect their interests. He understands that purchasing real estate is the most important transaction someone can go through, and his top priority is to make sure his clients get the deals that best fit their criteria. John listens attentively to his clients’ preferences and then uses his vast experience in the industry, knowledge of inventory, and informed economic outlook to guide them to the best financial decision possible. He extensively utilizes all research tools available and considers other creative solutions that may not fit clients’ original needs in order to give them a wide range of options.

John currently resides in Murray Hill with his wife, Heather, and their cat, Miko. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, watching Bloomberg, listening to podcasts, going to the movies, watching shows on Netflix and Amazon, and reading the occasional philosophy, history, or mystery book.
